Preparing to go

I am putting the Prayer cards out (made by my lovely friend Katie McGee) in the mail this week to send to friends and family that I am hoping will partner with me in prayer as I go to Uganda.

After hearing from the contact we will be working with in Uganda, I now have a better idea of the different things we will be doing while we are there.

The ministry is called Victory Outreach Ministries and has many different programs that help point the community towards Jesus.  The ministry has 3 primary schools that 1000 children attend.  The team and I will teach children in the schools, share encouragement from God’s word and prayer with the people who attend the weekly HIV/Aids meetings, visit people in the hospital and local prisons, spend time with people in their homes, and many other daily activities.

One of my favorite things about the past two summers I spent in Nicaragua and Kenya was the countless opportunities to be apart of just about any ministry or potential ministry that you see.
This past summer I spent 8 weeks in Kenya and God opened an awesome door for me to invest in 3 specific women’s lives.  The friendship and joy that we shared together and the Spirit’s working led to a great platform to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.  God really opened my eyes this summer to the pain, and abandonment that so many women in Africa face.  The women in these cultures are exhausted as they care for several children, do all of the daily chores by hand, carry heavy jugs of water, and find different ways to work to make enough money to feed their families.  They are overlooked and forgotten by the community around them and are often times just waiting to talk to someone, or share a laugh.

I am anticipating many more relationships with women that I meet in Uganda and I am so excited to be there for 4 months.

Please join me in prayer for God to prepare the way for us as we travel and for Him to open up many doors to share the hope found in Jesus Christ with people that are desperate for Him.

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…” (Colossians 4:2-3 ESV)
I included a few pictures that my friend Shelby took from her time spent in Uganda working with Victory outreach ministries.

It has been quite the day of clarification today. I found out that I will be spending the spring in Lira, Uganda. Im overwhelmed at the grace and provision of Jesus to a wicked sinner like me.  Prayers will be greatly appreciated the next few weeks. Thank you everyone for all the support..love you all.
Here I will post updates of what God is doing and how you can pray or give durning our time in Uganda.

I really desire for you to journey with me as I serve and tell others about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
